Mobile Monday is a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influentials fostering cooperation and cross-border business development through virtual and live networking events to share ideas, best practices and trends from global markets.

The first session is a speech from Andy Zain as MobileMonday Indonesia Leader, Jari Tammisto the CEO of MobileMonday Global and a representative from KADIN Indonesia. And the panel discussion was lead by MetroTV anchor, Fifi Aleyda Yahya.

The second session is more like a seminar. The speakers are from MobileMonday India who give a presentation about the growth of mobile industry in India, from Yahoo Asia who give a presentation that Yahoo is creating more contents for mobile devices, from MobileMonday Tokyo who give presentation the advanced mobile content industry in Japan, and Mr. Tomi Ahonen which give a presentation about what needs to be done for mobile industries to survive. The presentation from Mr. Tomi Ahonen was very inspiring.

The third session is the first MobileMonday event in Indonesia. The first presentation is from forum.nokia.com, giving presentation about widgets for Nokia handsets. The second presentation is from Mr. Lawrence Cosh-Ishii from MobileMonday Tokyo that give presentation about the rich mobile content in Japan, and the last presentation is from Synovate Indonesia, who give presentation about their survey of placing advertisement in mobile devices.

Now I can imagine what will MobileMonday event will be. Too bad that the audiences is not really paying attention to the presentations in the third session. Well they must be tired after listening to presentation and presentation since 9 am

MobileMonday Indonesia will held an event every first monday in every month to gather people who interested in mobile technology and mobile industries to build a network and to share and present their ideas. And the presentation must be delivered in English.
So if you are interested in mobile technology or mobile industries, you are welcome to attend to this event. And maybe someday you can also share and present your ideas.

After that session, I show my friend and his friends my Ubuntu desktop with beryl installed. I showed them some beryl’s desktop effects and of course the famous 3D cube. And one of them said “Wow, this is better than Vista”. And one of them said, “why don’t you open a booth here?” hahaha…. yeaa right… An Ubuntu booth in Windows Vista launching

The downside of iPhone according to Engadget are:

• No 3G
• No over the air iTunes downloads or WiFi syncing to your host machine
• No expandable memory (4GB or 8GB not enough?)
• No removable battery
• No Exchange or Office support

iPhone is not a smartphone. It’s an iPod, a cellphone and an internet device in one. Unfortunately, the iPhone will get into Asian market by 2008. Should I list it in my next gadget list?

Lalu akhirnya handphone aku yang Siemens S75 saya jadikan sebagai modem. Yup, semuanya lancar. Walaupun kecepatan internetnya lambat, tapi cukup lah buat cek email dan untuk YM dan MSN Messenger. Tapi teman saya yang menggunakan Xplore juga bilang kalau kecepatan internetnya lumayan cepet. Mungkin karena dia memakai handphone Nokia N80 yang memiliki fasilitas 3G jadi internetnya melalui jalur data 3G yang jelas lebih lebar.

Kemarin ini waktu mudik, ternyata bokap punya handphone yang memiliki fasilitas 3G, yaitu Nokia 6630. Karena penasaran, akhirnya di coba deh buat konek internet pakai handphone itu. Yup, memang ternyata bisa lebih cepat koneksinya, asalkan sedang dapat sinyal 3G-nya. Kalau sedang tidak dapat sinyal 3G-nya ya balik lagi jadi lelet hehehe. Akhirnya handphone bokap aku pinjam dulu deh buat koneksi internet di kost hehehe… lumayan jadi bisa download-download

So, sekarang harus nabung buat beli handphone yang memiliki fasilitas 3G *ngelirik dompet*

Belum ada kabar mengenai program client yang baru ini. Mungkin masing-masing tetap akan menggunakan program clientnya sendiri, dengan fitur tambahan tersebut. Dan perkiraan saya lebih condong ke arah ini, karena Yahoo! dan MSN mempunyai servis yang unik. Yahoo! sudah mengintegrasikan Yahoo! 360 ke Yahoo Messenger-nya, sedangkan MSN mempunyai fitur yang hampir mirip yaitu MSN Space. Kalaupun nantinya dibuat sebuah program client yang universal antara Yahoo Messenger dan MSN Messenger, mungkin nama yang terlintas sementara ini adalah YMSN Messenger (Yahoo MSN Messenger) atau bisa dibaca “Why MSN Messenger” hehehe… just kidding

Banyak orang yang mungkin gembira mendengar berita ini karena tidak perlu menjalankan 2 buah program instant messenger secara bersamaan, kecuali untuk mereka yang sudah menggunakan gaim atau Trillian.

Fortunately I have Avast! installed in my PC (I work all this thing in my laptop). So I uninstall my current antivirus software and install Avast!

I play around with Avast! configuration so it could scan my incoming and outgoing email from Gmail. But I have no luck. So I start searching again and found the solution in Avast! Web Forum. And this is how it’s done!

Software that I use:
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.2
Avast! 4.6 Home Edition
Win32 OpenSSL
Stunnel 4.10
and of course a Gmail account

1. Install Mozzila Thunderbird
2. Set up a new account in Mozzila Thunderbird

   In POP setting use this:
   login: yourlogin@gmail.com
   server: 127.0.0.1
   port: 10995
   security protocol : none (“secure connection (SSL)” unchecked and “secure authenticate” unchecked)

   In SMTP setting use this:
   login: yourlogin@gmail.com
   server: 127.0.0.1
   port: 10587
   security protocol : none (“secure connection” : “none” checked)

3. Install Avast! 4.6 Home Edition
4. Install Win32 OpenSSL
5. Put the stunnel-4.10.exe in any directory. I put it in C:\stunnel
   Create a new file with notepad and named it stunnel.conf
   The content of the stunnel.conf is like this:

   client=yes

   # POP3 service, listens on localhost:10995
   [gmail-pop3s]
   accept=127.0.0.1:10995
   connect=pop.gmail.com:995
   #or the SSL port of your Secure POP server if you use another service.

   don’t forget to save the file

6. Find a file avast.ini in Avast! installation directory.
   Find the mail scanner section and edit it like this:

Now your incoming and ouotgoing mail from Gmail that POP-ed using Thunderbird will be scan for viruses by Avast!
